Simple Japanese Words – Where, Who and Which

If you are trying to learn to speak Japanese, can help you learn some simple words that are not only easy to learn but very useful. This article covers the question 3, where, who and what. The three words all start with the letter d which can be easily remembered. After reading this article, you will be able to use these basic words to ask where, who and what questions in Japanese.

Where
Where is Japanese Doko. You can use it alone to ask where? By saying Doko?. To be polite, I would say Doko desu ka? To ask a question is, would you say X wa doko desu ka? If you wanted to ask where is the hotel, I would say Hoteru wa doko desu ka?

Who
Who is in Japanese Dare. Try for example to use in a sentence you could ask Kare wa dare desu ka? What that means is that?. Dare is possible directly from the word that most times you only use this with your friends and family, or when it is not important to be polite. Donata is the short form of the word. For example, you can ask Donata desu ka? For someone who does not know if it came to the door or rang the phone to ask who are you?

Which
Dore is the word for that matter? If you are asking one thing, you could ask Dore? For example, you may request that a pencil is your? Anata wa not enpitsu Dore desu ka? Dore is also related to the words kore, and pain are. Kore mean it is close to you. Sore that means this is a little further and Åre means that which is outside the person speaking.

These three words come in useful in many situations and they can ask a simple question with a single word. Being able to ask where, who and which will not only be useful to ask questions, but knowing these words will help you when you are listening to Japanese as you hear these words often.
