No matter how hard you work, how many accomplishments you have, no one will notice if you do not showcase it! When this world is full of qualified and competent people, you need more than ability to stand out among the crowd. There is one absolutely crucial element that a lot of people have left out and adding this one single thing will top off that long list of accomplishments you have been selling to your boss: Passion. That’s right, I mentioned something that has nothing to do with your work performance. You need to stand out among other people by showing you are passionate about what you do. The business world is shifting towards leading with passion, as willingness to work hard just doesn’t cut it anymore. Even if you lack the experience, if you have the passion, your boss will believe that you can learn to get there.

If you’re worried about getting caught during your job search, don’t fret. There are ways to make sure your search is both covert and successful. Avoid Using Your Employer’s Tools While Job Seeking. The surefire way to get caught conducting a job search is by using your work e-mail address, office equipment, or company telephone. You may be accustomed to a certain level of privacy in your office as an executive, but it is best not to take this privacy for granted since you never know who might read your e-mails, pick up documents from your printer, or answer your telephone.

The old adage, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know,” really is true. In most cases, a friend or colleague won’t be able to get you a job for which you’re not qualified, but they may be able to get you an interview when your resume would otherwise have been overlooked. Anything you do that involves talking to other people about your job search counts as networking, whether it’s lunch with a former coworker, coffee with a recruiter, or a formal networking event in your area.

What can you do to prepare for your medical device interview so that you’re the one who walks away with the job offer?
* Harness the power of LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a powerful resource for the job hunter. Once you have a profile, you’re good to go.
You can research companies you’re interested in, as well as the profiles of the people who work there. That’s going to give you a lot of information you can use. The LinkedIn pages of companies are usually a lot more informative than their corporate pages. By researching individual employees, you can see who’s who and get a clearer picture of what’s going on there.

When the economic tsunami swept through the economy in 2009, and by logical extension, through the job market, the “rules” of the “hiring game” changed, arguably for the foreseeable future. One of these NEW rules is this: relying exclusively, or even nearly exclusively, upon the Internet job boards to find your next job is a bad bet! Out of 100 résumés sent to a job posted on the Internet today, only one to two percent of them receive any kind of response, good, bad or indifferent!
